This rare Chinese farmer's bucket was found in the countryside of northern China and refinished in Shanghai; it has a dark elmwood lacquer finish. Handmade from woods like pine and fir, joined with hand hammered iron straps and traditional pegged construction, it was used as a farm utensil for collecting grains and vegetables.
