Hei Bei Chinese Antique Canopy Bed

This exotic antique bed is from northern China and is about 80 years old.  Also called an Opium Bed, we found this one-of-a-kind hand-carved beauty in the Chinese countryside and had it restored by local craftsmen. The elm wood post & side rails are carved lattice, the bed platform is woven rattan. Refinished with hand rubbed lacquers showing off the rich wood grain, it has clean and simple Ming-style elements.  Measures 88" x 48" x 78 inch high. Use in a bedroom or make a big statement in the living room as a seating area. Works in a modern, rustic or cottage interior. Refinished inside and out. Requires assembly.
