Chinese Antique Table Bowl Wooden Oval Tub

This wooden table bowl is red-lacquered, with a contrasting black lacquer top. The exterior is natural, with beautiful wood grain enhanced by a clear cherry lacquer finish. Originally found in the countryside of northern China, and refinished in Shanghai. Handmade from woods like pine and fir, joined with woven brass straps and traditional pegged construction. Used as baby or foot baths, since water would swell the wood, making it watertight. Our collection is limited and features rare Chinese wooden oval tubs. This works well as a magazine rack, table bowl or planter box. The simple design and skilled craftsmanship make it a great addition to any cottage, rustic, or country-style home.
