A rare find, this Chinese pair of elephant tables is ideal for your interior or garden space. Made around 1940, and collected in China by our staff before being imported to the States. This pair is in excellent condition and is ready to be used as a table, stool, or plant stand. Handmade by potters and expertly fired in traditional three-color Sancai with forest green, cobalt blue, and tan glazing. In Asia, elephants represent good luck, and this pair features right and left hanging trunks, a rare find. The glossy, crackle white glaze is decorated in vivid colors with masterful carving. Oriental key and florals are etched as decorative elements. On top of the elephant's back is a pedestal that serves as a table. The flat top offers a 12 x 9.5-inch flat top. You can use this stool as an extra seat, footrest, small table, or plant stand. Alternatively, use the pair with a large glass top for a cocktail table.
