This Asian fish tail ceramic vase is finished in a matte black lacquer. What is depicted is called the Ching Ming festival which we all call the bridge scene. The hand painting is of golds, bronze and beautiful whites on a flat matte black using thick paints for raised pattern on these rare pieces. Your fingers can feel the raised lacquer. We call this technique Chinese chinoiserie. This piece made of high-quality ceramic with a hand painted scene.
