Found and lightly restored in Shanghai, this 80-120 year old table is made of maple, prized for its light color, tight grain, and smooth appearance, and finished in a medium brown with a protective lacquer top coat.  The top is slightly distressed, with evidence of use as a prayer table in the burn marks that adorn it. A rare find, this Asian altar table has a unique design with double bevelled legs and frame, carved florets,and long life symbols, a simple Ming style apron, and structural leg stretchers for additional sturdiness. Refinished with hand rubbed protective lacquer, this grand table is handmade and carved by an expert craftsman, evident in its style and craftsmanship.  Classic and clean lines with Ming style elements; its dimensions are 79" x 16" x 33.5” high. Use in a living room as a center wall piece, behind a couch as a sofa table, or in the dining room as a server. Works in a contemporary, rustic, or cottage interior.
