Ceramic Elephant Book End

A rare discovery, this Chinese elephant statue is ideal for your space. This Asian ceramic elephant bookend will make a stunning accent piece for your home or garden. Made around 1960, and collected in China before being imported to the States. These are in excellent condition and are ready to be used as a statue, bookend or door stop. Handmade by potters and expertly fired in traditional three colors with cobalt blue, forest green, and tan glazing. In Asia, elephants represent good luck, and this one features the trunk in a natural pose. The glossy, crackle tan glaze is decorated in vivid blue and green with masterful carving. Oriental hand painting chain is used as a decorative element signifying knowledge, security and good fortune. On top of the elephant's back is a pedestal. The flat top offers a 5 x 4 inch flat surface.
