Our eggshell-white porcelain statue, known as Blanc de Chine by collectors, is from Dehua. Its bright white and fine details, with simple lines, have made it a classic among the early French explorers. The figure is Kwan Yuen, the goddess of mercy, with her hand outstretched with a water bottle. She is standing on water and offering a drink to a thirsty dragon. The details of the hands and the robe are outstanding. There is one other feature: this statue is a bottle. Simply fill the dragon's mouth with water from a faucet until it's full, then tilt it downward, and the water will flow into the inside, top of this sculpture. Then stand it upright and watch the water drip from the bottle in her hands into the dragon's mouth. Use this Asian decorative porcelain on a table top, or as a gift for any occasion.
